Yanagawa Art Museum 　・　梁川美術館　2017年6月16日

Located on the southern bank of the Hirose River, the Yanagawa art museum is a place where one can sense gentle flow of time. The museum is small but well curated. The permanent collection is centered on the works of Ryouhei Ota, who was born in Yanagawa and is known for both his wood carvings, and bronze statues. His wooden statues include depictions of Buddhas, birds, and the　poet Matsuo Basho. His Bronze statues include images of nuns and various nude statues. The unique shape and varied textures he applies throughout his work are of particular note.

　 梁川美術館は、広瀬川のわきに設置されて、時間を豊かに感じられるところです。　美術館は小さくても、丁寧に管理されています。コレクションは梁川生まれの太田良平の木彫と銅像を中心にしています。木像は鳥、仏像、松尾芭蕉、銅像は修道女から裸像など、さまざまです。像の形と彫刻のそれぞれのきめは特に美しいです。

The public gallery on the second floor displays an ever changing collection of work from various artists and organizations. It currently features photographs from a Fukushima prefecture photo contest which will be shown until the 25th.

　 二階にある市民ギャラリーの展示は頻繁に更新されています。6月25日まで、福島緑の写真展があります。福島の美しい自然の写真が展示されています。

 The museum is open from 9：30-5：00pm from Tuesday through Sunday. Further information about hours, admission, displays and access can be found on the museum website.

　美術館は火曜日から日曜日、9時半から17時まで開いています。 営業時間、入場金、展覧会の情報は梁川美術館のウェブサイトで見えます。

The Hobara Pool 　・　保原プール　2017年6月12日

Today I’d like to introduce the Hobara Pool. The Hobara pool is a clean and modern facility equipped with a 25 meter swimming pool with a depth of 1.1 meters, a kiddie pool, and sauna. The pool is usually divided into several lanes for walking and swimming various distances. There is also a shallow area where children can play. The pool area windows look out onto the surrounding green spaces and let in plenty of natural light. Besides the swimming facilities, there is a conference room, reading area, and space to rest.

　今日は、保原プールを紹介したいと思います。保原プールは綺麗で、近代的な施設です。窓を覗いて見ると周囲の緑がたのしめる、自然光たっぷりな施設です。プールの長さは25メートルで深さは1.1メートルです。幼児用プールとサウナも付けられています。歩く用から泳ぐ距離ごとにそれぞれのコースに分かれています。プールのほかには、会議室、読書コーナーと休憩所も備えています。

In addition to being only 230meters from the Abukuma Express line’s Oizumi station the Hobara Pool is easily accessible with a 40 space parking lot, and a covered bike parking area. As I left the facilities, I caught sight of the Masamune Blue Liner (a train car decorated with anime) passing by the pool facilities. Gneral admission for a one time session costs 400 yen, but if you plan to use the facilities regularly, there is also a member system. The pool is open for 2 hour intervals between 9：30am-8：00pm. 

 　保原プールは阿武隈急行の大泉駅から230メートルなので、アクセスはとても便利です。40台の駐車場と自転車置き場もあります。私が施設を訪問した時、政宗ブルーライナーのラッピング車両を見かけました。一般入場の一回券は400円ですが、頻繁に使う予定なら会員制度もあります。プールは午前9時30分から20時までに、二時間単位で開いてます。
