A Day at Tsukidate Academy ・月舘学園一日活動

We CIRs spend every Wednesday at Tsukidate Academy.

僕達国際交流員は毎週の水曜日を月舘学園で過ごします。

Activities that involve encountering the English language are particularly numerous at Tsukidate Academy.

月舘学園では英語でふれあう活動が特に多いです。

Not only do we visit, but a popular assistant language teacher is also present every single day.

僕達の訪問だけではなく、人気な外国語指導助手も毎日いらっしゃいます。

At the start of the day of this coverage, we learned about crime prevention with the elementary school students.

この取材を行った日の朝、小学校の全校生徒と一緒に防犯について習いました。

The students were asked if the teachers standing before them looked suspicious.

前に立っている先生達が怪しく見えるかと生徒達は聞かれました。

One suspicious teacher began chasing a child.

一人の怪しそうな先生は生徒を追いかけ始めました。

A furious pursuit ensued.

激しい追撃が始まりました。

One of our tasks is writing an English listening-comprehension exercise and performing it during the lunchtime PA system broadcast.

昼に放送する英語聞き取り練習番組の作成と演技が僕達の任務の一つです。

After it is performed, we create a poster with the script, which is displayed at multiple locations around the school.

上演の後、脚本や問題が書いているポスターを作り、学校のあっちこっちに掲示させて頂きます。

With the invaluable help of the school teachers, every week I have been able to finish writing the script before we perform it.

学校の先生達からの貴重な手伝いを頂きますので、毎週演技するまでに脚本の作成ができます。

During the post-lunch recess, students came to the school community center to make origami with us.

昼休みに、子ども達は僕達と折り紙を作るためにSCセンターに来ました。

Shannen’s bears were particularly popular.

シャネンが作った熊は特に人気でした。

We were able to finish making the poster for the day’s listening exercise before it was time to return to the City Hall’s Hobara Main Branch.

市役所の保原本庁に戻るまでにポスター作成を完了できました。

We are always sad to leave Tsukidate, but we look forward to coming again the next week!

月舘から帰る事がいつも寂しいが、次の週の訪問を楽しみにしています!

Walking Around Kibō no Mori Park ・ 希望の森公園を回って散歩する

With most events canceled for the summer there may not be much to do, but we can still make our own fun. This month, Tony and I visited Yanagawa’s Kibō no Mori Park!
夏のほとんどのイベントがキャンセルされているので、ひまかもしれませんが、自分の楽しみを作ることができます。今月、トニーと一緒に梁川の希望の森公園に行きました！

The park is not yet open but people are welcome to walk around the grounds. We didn’t realize until we had already started walking, but there are markers reading “Point 1,” “Point 2,” etc. circling the park. Walking from “Point 1” all the way around to “Point 8” would likely take a bit over an hour. We parked by “Point 3” and bumbled our way to “Point 4” in about twenty minutes.
公園はまだ開いてないけど散歩することはできます。散歩を始めると、公園を一周する「ポイント1」「ポイント2」などのマーカーがあることに気づきました。「ポイント1」から「ポイント8」まで歩くと、1時間以上かかると思います。私たちは「ポイント3」のそばに駐車し、約20分で「ポイント4」まで歩きました。

Along the way, we came across butterflies and bumble bees, as well as a mysterious rock. We got lost just once and found a path riddled with spiders. We even met a pheasant, who got startled and screamed like a demon.
途中で、蝶や熊蜂、そして不思議な岩を見ました。一度迷子になり、クモだらけの道を見つけました。キジにも会いました。キジは私たちに驚いて、悪魔のように叫びました。

We were surprised to find a number of private gardens and orchards.
たくさんの庭や果樹園を見つけてびっくりしました。

Almost all of these gardens had sheds. Was anyone taking a nap inside? We’re sorry if we disturbed you!
これらの庭園のほとんどすべてには、小屋がありました。中にだれか寝ていましたかな？ご迷惑をおかけして申し訳ありませんでした！

Some other great places to take a long walk in Date City; Takako’s Twenty Scenic Views, Mount Chausu, and Mount Ryōzen. Wherever you go, be sure to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun!
ほかにも伊達市内で長い散歩ができるいい場所は高子二十境、茶臼山や霊山などがあります。どこに行っても、水分をとって、太陽から身を守ってください！
