Kindergarten Visits・認定こども園での訪問

Once a month I visit several of Date City’s kindergartens to promote international awareness and introduce some simple English curriculum. I was lucky to have Cameron with me as I get used to it all.  This month we sang “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”. The kids love when we sing FAST! 

私は毎月、伊達市にある認定こども園を訪れ、国際理解を促進し、簡単な英語のカリキュラムを紹介しています。今回はキャメロンと一緒に訪問しました。今月は「Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes」を歌いました。子供たちは早く歌う部分が大好きです。

We also sang “Bingo”. The children are beginning to recognize the letters in Bingo’s name. 

「Bingo」も歌いました。子供たちがBingoの名前に出てくる文字を知るようになっています。

We played Simon Says, read a short picture book and played a blindfold game similar to “Pin the Tail on the Donkey”.

「サイモンさんが言いました」というゲームで遊んだり、短い絵本を読んだり、本のテーマを使って目隠しゲームを楽しみました。

It was my first time interacting with the majority of the kids and I was impressed with how not only open they were to the situation, but how much fun they appeared to be having. Personally, I was very shy as a child and would not have done as well with a new person showing up like this. They were so sweet to be around and I can’t wait to continue this effort next month again.

ほとんどの子どもたちと初めての交流でしたが、彼らがこの状況に対してとてもオープンで、楽しんでいる様子に感心しました。私は子どもの頃、とても恥ずかしがり屋で、新しい人が来ると上手く対応できなかったと思います。彼らはとても可愛くて楽しい時間を過ごせて、来月もこの活動を続けるので嬉しいです。
