Easter Egg Hunt・イースターエッグハント

This year on Easter Sunday we held our fourth Easter Egg Hunt event at the Hobara Recreational Park. The weather was cloudy and cool and we had many participants joining in on the hunt. 
今年はイースターの日に保原総合公園で第4回目のイースターエッグハントを開催しました。天候も良くて、多くの方がエッグハントに参加してくれました。

This year we hid roughly 200 plastic eggs around a designated area inside the park. While we have a general idea on where to hide each egg, we did our best to have a wide range of difficulty for kids of all ages to enjoy.
今年も公園内の指定された場所におよそ200個の絵が描かれている紙が入ったプラスチックの卵を隠しました。あらゆる年齢の子供たちが楽しめるよう、幅広い難易度の場所に隠すようにしました。

Yvonne and I then explained the rules of the hunt as well as how the children could receive a snack in exchange for the egg they found. Inside these eggs was a picture of something.  When the children bring an egg to us, we would then quiz them on the English word related to one of the 3 pictures we placed inside the eggs. 
はじめにイボンヌさんと僕は、参加者の前でイベントの流れを説明しました。子どもたちが卵を卵交換所に持ってきてくれたら、卵の中の紙に書いてある動物、学校の教科、果物の3つの絵のどれかを選んで英単語のクイズにしました。

The possible words were animal names, school subjects, and fruits. Upon giving the correct answer, they would be allowed to take a snack of their choosing.
そして答えた子供たちに好きなお菓子を渡しました。

Then, it was time to begin the event.
Many children had already spotted some eggs while waiting for the event to start, so the children were quick to bring an egg to us. 
説明が終わったらイベントをスタートしました。
イベントが始まる前に、卵を見つけて、場所を覚えた子供たちもいたので、すぐに持ってきてくれた子供が多くいました。

The children this year were able to answer the questions so well!
今年も伊達市の子供たちの英語力が高くてうれしかったです。

The event concluded after a few hours when all the eggs were found. With some children helping after all participants had finished. 
数時間後、すべての卵が見つかったところでイベントは終了しました。参加者全員が終了した後、何人かの子供たちが残っていた卵を拾うのに手伝ってくれました。
