Ryozen Taiko Matsuri 霊山太鼓祭り
Date had another vibrant festival this month, the Ryozen Taiko Matsuri. This year was my first time to experience this as last year it was unfortunaTely cancelled due to weather related issues.
伊達市では先月のサマーフェスティバルに続いて、今月も活気あふれるお祭り「霊山太鼓まつり」が開催されました。昨年は残念ながら天候の影響で中止になってしまったので、今年が初めての参加でした！
This festival is held annually from 9AM-5PM at Hobara Recreational Park. I took my younger son and it was the most beautiful sunny day. A field there, typically used for sports practice, is filled with food stalls, booths and there are many stage performances to enjoy.
このお祭りは毎年、保原総合公園で1日行われます。私は次男を連れて行きましたが、当日は雲ひとつない晴天に恵まれました。普段はスポーツの練習に使われる広場が、たくさんの屋台やブース、ステージパフォーマンスで賑わっていました。
We’re always excited about shaved ice and my son was happy to get a bow and arrow balloon made by girl group, Magical Barurun Yes.
私はいつもお祭りに行くとかき氷を毎回楽しみにしていて、今回ももちろん食べました。そして息子は、アイドルグループ「マジカルバルルーンYes」のメンバーに、風船の弓矢を作ってもらって大喜びでした。
There was a performance by the talented singer/ songwriter, MANAMI. Her voice was so pretty!
シンガーソングライターのMANAMIさんのパフォーマンスもありました。彼女の歌声はとてもきれいでした！
And when the afternoon taiko performance finally began, we saw Alice Kobayashi on stage, (she represented Fukushima and received an honorable mention at the Miss Japan Pageant)!
そして午後の太鼓パフォーマンスが始まると、ステージにはなんとミスジャパンの特別賞を貰った、福島代表でもあるパーソナリティーの小林アリスさんが登場。
I enjoyed browsing the booths representing Date City’s sister cities, located in Kusatsu City, Shiga; Shiroi City, Chiba; Chikusei, Ibaraki; Minami Makimura, Nagano and Matsumae, Hokkaido. They had their produce and original products for sale.
また、伊達市の姉妹都市・友好交流都市（北海道松前町、滋賀県草津市、長野県南牧村、千葉県白井市、茨城県筑西市）のブースもあり、それぞれの特産品やオリジナル商品が販売されていて、見ているだけでも楽しかったです。
Ryozen Taiko Matsuri is without a doubt, a big deal here in Date City. DefiniTely check it out next year if you’re close by.
「霊山太鼓まつり」は、伊達市にとって本当に大きなイベントです。お近くの方は、ぜひ来年足を運んでみてください！
