Flower Viewing in Date City　・　伊達市でお花見　2018年4月10日　

If you’re going to go flower viewing in Date City, there are a couple of places you have to see. One place everyone seems to recommend is the cherry blossom viewing spot right next to Hashirazawa Elementary School in Hobara. When the trees blossom in the spring, it becomes a popular destination for locals and tourists alike!

　伊達市で花見をしに行くなら、見に行った方がいい場所がいくつかあります。皆がお勧めするひとつの場所は保原町の柱沢小学校の隣にある桜の見どころです。春に桜が咲くときに、地域住民や観光客にとって人気なところです！

The lantern decorations will make your visit feel like a special occasion.

　提灯があり、特別な気分に感じさせます。

If you are looking for a quieter, more relaxing outing, there is the aptly named Hana Koubo (Flower Workshop) in Tsukidate. An excellent destination all year round, its campus features a bath, restaurant, hoTel, and a gift shop full of handmade goods. And right nearby is Shimotedo Han Jinya Ato, the former location of a 17th century castle!

　それより静かで、安らかなお出かけをしたいなら、花工房が月舘町にあります。一年中最適な場所で、お風呂、レストラン、ホテル、手作り品でいっぱいのギフトショップがあります。そして、すぐ近くには下手渡藩陣屋跡、17世紀の陣屋跡があります！

Created in 1806 by a member of the Shimotedo Clan (related to the Yanagawa Domain’s Tachibana Clan), Shimotedo was a village lasting 63 years before succumbing to fire at the beginning of the Meiji Era.

　下手渡藩陣屋跡は、1806年に下手渡藩（柳川藩立花氏の一族）のメンバーによってつくられ、明治元年まで63年続きました。

The stone monument was placed in remembrance in 1902. A detailed map of the former structure is also on display at the site.

　1902年に碑が建てられました。陣屋跡の詳細地図も敷地に表示されています。

Although well-known by local residents, Shimotedo is not as highly trafficked as other flower viewing spots. If you manage to navigate the country roads and pay the site a visit, you may get to have the spot all to yourself!

　地元の人によく知られていますが、他の花見どころほど混んでいません。国道をナビゲートしてここを訪問したら、自分一人で楽しむことができるかも知りません！

And speaking of little known spots, my favorite place for cherry blossom viewing is right next door to Date City Hall. More than a dozen blossoming cherry trees line this off-shoot of the Abukuma River. It’s pretty, it’s quiet, and if you visit, it’s just a ten minute walk from Hobara Total Park　(where you can also visit the historical former home of the Kameoka family)!

ほとんど知られていないかもしれませんが、私が一番好きな花見どころは伊達市役所の隣にあります。阿武隈川からのこの流水には十数本の桜が並んでいます。美しく、かなり静かな場所で、保原総合公園（そこで旧亀岡家住宅もあります）からも歩いて10分です!
